| HOW TO APPLY |
| |
| The SIRM accreditation process is very thorough. It is conducted in four stages: |
| |
| Stage 1 -Scrutiny of the Application Form and Supporting Documentation. |
| |
| |
| |
| Once an expression of interest form has been received, SIRM will acknowledge receipt in writing, email or by telephone informing the applicant college of the processes involved in becoming an SIRM Accredited Partner College. |
| |
| SIRM will then request the following documentation from the applicant college: |
| |
· Copy of Company Incorporation Certificate
· Copy of DIUS registration letter
· Copy of BAC/ASIC Accreditation Certificate (if applicable)
· Copy of all other accreditation certificates (if applicable)
· Original Prospectus and Admission Form
· Any other document, which is mentioned in the Centre Accreditation Application form
· £500* pounds (non-refundable) application processing/ admin charges – Payable in the shape of Banker’s draft or cheque to “SIRM Education".
| |
*Any college outside London shall pay £750 instead of £500 and an additional charge for travel expenses will also be payable as 40 pence per mile. Please ask us for more details before sending the application to us.
| |
After careful scrutiny of the documentation, our Franchise Consultant will refer the Expression of Interest Form to SIRM Accreditation Committee provided we are satisfied with the bonafide and credibility of the College. The Accreditation Committee will then fix a date for a Committee Meeting to consider the expression of interest form.
| |
| The Committee Secretary will review the application and advise the Consultant if further information is required. If no further information is required, the applicant is advised as to the date for the Committee Meeting. The Committee meets in camera and the applicant will not be present at the Committee Meeting except by special dispensation from the committee. |
| |
| The Committee can arrive at one of three decisions: |
| |
· Recommend First Stage Approval- the application to proceed to the next stage.
· Recommend rejection of the franchise application
· Recommend that the applicant try again in three months time and give reasons why.
| |
| If the application is successful, SIRM will notify the Applicant College accordingly and a date is fixed for the Initial Inspection Visit. |
| |
| Stage 2 – Initial Inspection Visit |
| |
| This is a very important aspect of the process. Stage 2 will normally comprise a one-day Inspection visit by an SIRM Inspector. The main emphasis will be for us to see that the college compliance with legal requirements, Home Office and BIA requirements. We will also examine the management structure of the college, student support facilities at the college, the college premises and the adequacy of learning and teaching resources for students. At this first Inspection Visit, SIRM visiting staff will discuss the framework and timeframe for the next stage. We charge £500 - £750 to carry out this Initial Visit. |
| |
| Stage 3 – Inspection Reporting Stage |
| |
| After Stage 2 (Initial Inspection Visit), SIRM Inspector will submit a report of the visit, which will recommend whether or not to proceed to the next Stage. If need be, the Report will identify issues and recommend the addressing of those issues before the next stage in the process. The report will be submitted to and considered by SIRM Accreditation Committee, which will decide whether or not to confirm the recommendations. If the Accreditation Committee decides not to proceed to the next stage, the applicant college will be informed of the reasons for this and given the opportunity to appeal and present grounds for requesting a review of the inspector’s report. If the Accreditation Committee decides to proceed to the next stage, the Applicant College will also be informed of this decision. |
| |
| Stage 4- Issue of Accreditation Certificate and Marketing Material |
| |
| If the Inspector report after Stage 2 is affirmative than SIRM will ask Applicant College to pay the accreditation fee within 2 days of invoice. Upon the payment, SIRM Education will send you the accreditation certificate and publicity material. Your college details will also be given on our website under “Directory of SIRM Partners”. |
